Helya HAtefi

Helya came into the world in the year 1983 in Iran. She’s the daughter of a painter who taught herself how to draw and paint. Helya felt inspired by reading several books about sculpting and metals.

For her education, Helya took Architecture at the University of Almeda where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Interior design. Inevitably, in 2012 Helya launched her career as a contemporary jewellery designer and silver smith, and this started with conceptual designing based on stories inspired by sculptures and forms that she knew from the architectural world.

Helya often used handmade pieces and materials such as glass and fabrics, wood, and plastic for reference to achieve this.

She was always concerned that concepts are kept in architecture, they are Imprisoned in forms and time; Contemporary jewellery was a response to this intellectual concern, because any handicraft, apart from formalism and empowerment, as a conceptual structure, free from the shackles of time and space, could convey its message to the audience and always be with them; For this reason, since 2013, it has pursued its goal by creating and Founding CHAARHE brand as a solution for this purpose.

“Ornament is the intersection of the conscious and the unconscious, the only human-made thing that can recreate this hidden feature for human,” she says. Here I am trying to create an ornament through which the individual can understand my own idea, its own idea in its own space, communicate with it and have the same mental and implicit meaning for itself; “Creating a conceptual and artistic work that one consciously chooses to carry on one’s ‘body’.”
